Senior Software Test and Verification Engineer – El Segundo Onsite

Lead software verification, test automation, and acceptance testing for Boeing satellite ground-system software. Support Defense, Space & Security programs in El Segundo or Seal Beach.

Description

  • Support verification planning and review test cases and procedures.
  • Conduct informal and formal Test Readiness Reviews.
  • Lead the software test team in formally verifying software requirements.
  • Lead Factory Acceptance Tests, maintaining execution logs and daily reports.
  • Record issues and problem reports through change-control tools.
  • Present issue burnup charts and verification status during program management reviews.
  • Monitor unresolved issues through closure to meet delivery commitments.
  • Assess internal and customer problem reports while coordinating Ground Mission Software work with Flight Software, Satellite Simulation, Ground Systems Engineering, and Ground Software leads.
  • Release software life-cycle documentation in accordance with Boeing processes.
  • Lead compliance with software development and verification procedures during Quality Assurance audits.
  • Lead creation of Software Verification Life Cycle documentation.
  • Support Change Control Board activities involving software verification.
  • Help plan deliverables including Verification Plans, Requirement Deviations, Requirements, and Test Reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Eligibility to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance, with interim clearance required before starting and final clearance after starting; U.S. citizenship is required.
  • At least five years of software development life-cycle experience spanning requirements analysis, design, coding, integration, and testing.
  • At least three years of experience developing test execution scripts and using test automation tools.
  • At least three years of software development experience with Java, C++, or Python.
  • Experience in Agile software development and DevOps practices.
  • Ability to complete the company’s Conflict of Interest assessment process.
  • U.S. Person status required for U.S. export-control compliance.
  • The employer will not sponsor employment visa status.
  • Ability to complete a required technical assessment.
  • Preferred: At least nine years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Preferred: Active TS/SCI or DoD Top Secret clearance.
  • Preferred: Experience serving as a Product Owner, Technical Lead, or Integration and Test Lead on government programs.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of Command and Control systems, real-time applications, and their requirements.
  • Preferred: Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases, messaging systems, and data-streaming technologies.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and orchestration platforms.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of requirements derivation, allocation, and traceability.
  • Preferred: Ability to design and develop automated tests, execute them, track results, manage test data, and improve software quality.
  • Preferred: Experience leading formal acceptance testing.
