Senior Software Engineer – Remote in Virginia

Senior Software Engineer responsible for designing scalable systems, delivering production software, and strengthening architecture at Kreative Technologies. This remote role includes technical leadership, quality improvements, and mentorship across engineering teams.

Description

  • Design architecture and software components for both new and existing systems
  • Write, test, and deploy reliable production code
  • Lead technical design discussions and peer code reviews
  • Enhance system performance, scalability, and security
  • Develop and maintain automated testing and CI/CD workflows
  • Coach software engineers and promote effective engineering practices
  • Coordinate with product, testing, and operations teams to deliver releases
  • Take on additional responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related discipline
  • At least five years of professional software engineering experience
  • Proficiency in Java, C#, Python, or a comparable programming language
  • Knowledge of software design patterns, APIs, and relational databases
  • Experience with Git, CI/CD practices, and Agile development methods
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Capacity to work independently in a remote setting
  • Ability to regularly use standard office equipment, including computers, phones, scanners, and printers
  • Preferred: Background with cloud platforms, containers, and microservices
  • Preferred: Cloud credential such as AWS Certified Developer or Azure Developer Associate
  • Preferred: Experience supporting contracts for the federal government
