Description

  • Build resilient, high-performance systems that manage supplier and seller catalog content across Walmart’s global marketplace.
  • Apply or develop machine-learning solutions and scalable models for Walmart-scale use cases.
  • Create intuitive software aligned with customer and business needs.
  • Work with teammates to define requirements and establish software development best practices.
  • Maintain high-quality code and deliver regular updates that address customer and business needs.
  • Analyze and test programs and products before their formal release.
  • Diagnose and resolve coding issues efficiently.
  • Develop software that monitors the sharing of private information.
  • Identify opportunities to improve software effectiveness.
  • Follow company policies, procedures, mission, values, ethical principles, and integrity standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s, master’s, or MCA degree in computer science or a related technical field, or five years of experience in software engineering or a related area.
  • At least five years of object-oriented programming experience with Java.
  • Strong foundations in computer systems, data structures, algorithms, and problem-solving.
  • Hands-on experience with web-based J2EE services or applications, Kafka, Apache Camel, RESTful web services, Spring, Hibernate, Splunk, and caching.
  • Experience designing systems and working with distributed systems.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Exposure to SQL and NoSQL data stores, including Cassandra, Elastic, and Mongo.
  • Experience with large-scale distributed services, including scalability and fault tolerance.
  • Exposure to cloud infrastructure such as OpenStack, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or AWS.
  • Exposure to build, CI/CD, and deployment pipelines using technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, and Jenkins.
  • A continuous interest in exploring, improving, enhancing, automating, and optimizing systems and tools.
  • Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree and three years of software engineering or related experience, or five years of software engineering or related experience.
