Senior AR & Billing Accountant - Italy (Hybrid)

Description

  • Lead end-to-end billing and accounts receivable activities across multiple international entities.
  • Review contracts and commercial terms to deliver accurate, timely billing.
  • Administer complex billing models and prepare invoices and credit notes.
  • Coordinate collections, customer follow-ups, and escalations.
  • Maintain reliable AR aging schedules and collection forecasts.
  • Reconcile receivables and customer balances against the general ledger and balance sheet.
  • Investigate and resolve variances involving payments, credits, foreign exchange, and unapplied receipts.
  • Contribute to monthly and quarterly close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and cut-off procedures.
  • Prepare accurate AR information for cash flow, treasury, and management reporting.
  • Assist with audits and enhance billing, collections, reconciliation, and reporting processes.
  • Partner with Sales, Customer Success, Legal, Treasury, and Accounting teams.
  • Maintain consistent data across NetSuite, Salesforce, and internal billing systems.
  • Oversee billing through global cloud marketplaces, including transaction reconciliations, fees, payouts, and related reporting.

Requirements

  • Five or more years of experience in accounts receivable, billing, accounting, or a comparable finance position.
  • Solid accounting knowledge with practical experience in month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Practical experience with global cloud marketplaces, including AWS Marketplace, Microsoft Azure Marketplace, and Google Cloud Marketplace.
  • Demonstrated ability to reconcile AR aging with the general ledger.
  • Experience producing collection forecasts, cash reports, and management reports.
  • Strong understanding of the order-to-cash process.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency and excellent written and spoken English.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capacity to work independently in a fast-paced, international environment.
  • A degree in accounting, bookkeeping certification, or another relevant qualification.
  • Background in a global SaaS or high-tech company.
  • Experience handling complex or usage-based billing models.
  • Experience using NetSuite and Salesforce.
  • Familiarity with revenue recognition and deferred revenue reconciliations.
