Senior Software Development Engineer at BeyondTrust (Remote - United States)

Build and support BeyondTrust’s Secure Remote Access products as a senior software engineer. Maintain appliance operating systems, release workflows, and AWS infrastructure serving identity security customers.

Description

  • Develop and maintain dependable code for complex client-server enterprise applications
  • Convert application storyboards and use cases into working software
  • Partner with colleagues and stakeholders on feature design and product direction
  • Create test cases and development documentation with Quality Assurance
  • Keep peers and managers informed about problems, risks, and issues
  • Document development work thoroughly
  • Work with technical support and, when needed, customers to diagnose and resolve issues
  • Define project and task scope and provide reliable time estimates
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and triage complex technical issues in the codebase
  • Incorporate product feedback, deliver fixes, and create patches
  • Build, package, sign, and release appliance images and software updates for on-premises and cloud environments
  • Deploy and operate cloud infrastructure covering compute, DNS, storage, and key management

Requirements

  • At least five years of professional software development experience
  • Proficiency across the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Extensive experience working in Unix and Linux environments
  • Professional experience with Python and PHP
  • Experience with Laravel or a comparable MVC framework
  • Background maintaining large, legacy codebases
  • Hands-on AWS experience with EC2, Route 53, S3, IAM, and KMS
  • Experience designing and administering databases
  • Practical experience writing unit tests
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies
  • Strong knowledge of modern software design patterns
  • Experience managing the complete development lifecycle through product release in an Agile environment
  • Understanding of network security and encryption principles
  • Strong written and verbal English communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience contributing to an Agile team using continuous integration and development practices
