Senior Site Reliability Engineer (APAC) – Hong Kong Hybrid

Lead reliability engineering for Reap’s global stablecoin-powered payments platform. Own AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, observability, compliance, and incident response across APAC.

Description

  • Establish reliability standards with SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and partner teams
  • Join the on-call rotation and strengthen incident response and blameless postmortems
  • Achieve comprehensive Infrastructure as Code coverage without manual provisioning, configuration drift, or unmanaged resources
  • Unify Terraform into a governed codebase with consistent modules and automated drift detection
  • Automate account creation and environment configuration across regions and services
  • Create golden paths and self-service tools for provisioning, deployment, and observability
  • Design production-like ephemeral environments with automated cleanup
  • Deliver logging, metrics, distributed tracing, and actionable alerting
  • Operate PCI DSS and regulated financial cloud systems, covering availability, failover, capacity, disaster recovery, and incident response
  • Build secrets management, least-privilege IAM, network segmentation, and compliance controls into the infrastructure
  • Develop secure, isolated, and auditable infrastructure for AI assistants and agents
  • Work with product and engineering teams to deliver reliability capabilities as a platform product

Requirements

  • Strong Linux and computer-systems fundamentals, including internals, networking, and administration
  • Advanced Terraform expertise spanning state management, module design, and team-wide standards enforcement
  • Experience leading a complete Infrastructure as Code migration or large-scale greenfield implementation
  • Strong AWS experience across multi-account, multi-region environments, including Control Tower, IAM, networking, RDS, and cost management
  • Experience operating ECS and Fargate, plus production Kubernetes at scale
  • Kubernetes expertise covering cluster lifecycle, upgrades, autoscaling, resource limits, and multi-tenant workload isolation
  • Production experience with Lambda, SQS, and EventBridge, including retries, poison messages, ordering, and idempotency
  • Experience with GitOps delivery through Argo CD or an equivalent tool and GitHub Actions CI/CD
  • Hands-on observability experience using logging, metrics, and tracing platforms such as New Relic, CloudWatch, Datadog, or Prometheus
  • Programming experience with Python, Go, or Bash for automation and tooling
  • End-to-end service ownership from requirements and design through delivery, observability, incident response, capacity planning, upgrades, and security patching
  • Experience in regulated environments with PCI DSS and financial compliance requirements
  • Ability to manage projects independently and build alignment across teams without formal authority
  • Strong communication skills, including explaining technical decisions plainly and breaking work down for people or agents
  • Extensive use of AI tools for coding, review, automation, incident analysis, and documentation
  • Comfort responding to production incidents, including high-impact events in payments
  • Experience defining SLOs, managing error budgets, or establishing incident and postmortem practices
  • Bonus: substantial SRE, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering experience; mature SRE practice; fintech, payments, or card-issuing experience; hands-on PCI DSS work; Kubernetes or EKS in PCI DSS environments; ephemeral environment platforms; internal developer platforms, account factories, or landing zones; Ansible; AWS certifications; and stablecoin, Web2, or Web3 familiarity
