Senior Rates Analyst responsible for transportation pricing, market analysis, reporting, and contract-rate database management. Supports executive sales and strategic growth for a national logistics company.

Description

  • Partner with fellow analysts and executive sales leaders to use statistical analysis and data to grow new and existing business
  • Develop and apply pricing informed by market conditions, historical trends, company costs, growth goals, and profitability targets
  • Prepare pricing submissions using the company’s bid-rate structure while meeting critical customer deadlines
  • Create complex queries and formulas
  • Investigate pricing discrepancies and communicate findings
  • Track outstanding proposals through successive pricing updates
  • Maintain the database with revised contract-rate terms for spot and fixed-term pricing
  • Keep comprehensive records of finalized agreements
  • Oversee daily pricing operations, resolve issues, manage exceptions, and conduct ad hoc analyses for strategic initiatives
  • Produce recurring and ad hoc reports for prominent national accounts and interpret key trends

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year university, with a concentration emphasizing mathematics, analytics, or a related quantitative discipline
  • At least five years of analyst experience
  • A proactive approach to research and investigation
  • Strong organizational skills with a structured, detail-oriented approach to note-taking
  • Experience interpreting results and creating reports with advanced Microsoft Excel functions
  • Ability to remain composed under pressure amid shifting priorities and occasional interruptions
  • Strong critical-thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized and effective in communication
  • Personable and comfortable collaborating closely with executive management
  • Preferred: Strong interest in quantitative analysis and business understanding
  • Preferred: Process-oriented approach
  • Preferred: Experience with KPI reporting
  • Preferred: Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other data warehousing tools
  • Completion of an Excel-based assessment is required for consideration
  • Work schedule: Monday through Friday, daytime shift, United States
