Senior IS Governance, Risk and Compliance Lead

Lead federal audits, Authorization to Operate activities, and technology risk at U.S. Bank. Coordinate compliance work across security, technology, risk, and architecture teams.

Description

  • Direct federal audits with oversight agencies and internal partners.
  • Act as the main contact for audit requests, compliance reviews, and regulatory examinations.
  • Prepare for audits by gathering evidence, reviewing documentation, resolving issues, and validating controls.
  • Support Authorization to Operate (ATO) processes and continuing federal compliance obligations.
  • Work with Information Security, Technology, Architecture, Infrastructure, and Cloud teams to maintain security and compliance controls.
  • Manage vendor compliance reviews and audits against regulatory and risk management requirements.
  • Find compliance and control gaps, then lead remediation.
  • Share audit results, compliance assessments, and recommendations with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Guide and coach teams and direct work across compliance initiatives.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Must be able to meet federal access, background screening, and clearance requirements.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • More than 10 years of experience in regulatory compliance, auditing, or risk management.
  • At least five years of federal audit experience, including audits by the GAO or other federal entities.
  • Experience managing or conducting vendor audits in a highly regulated industry.
  • Experience supporting FedRAMP High, FISMA, NIST, and FIPS compliance requirements.
  • Experience with Authorization to Operate (ATO) processes.
  • Knowledge of security controls, compliance assessments, and vulnerability management.
  • Understanding of technology architecture across application, database, infrastructure, cloud, and network environments.
  • Experience with security tools such as Tenable, Microsoft Defender, or comparable platforms.
  • Experience supporting Azure and Azure Government Cloud environments.
  • Strong vendor risk management and third-party compliance experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, delegate effectively, and deliver results across cross-functional teams.
