Senior iOS Software Engineer – Telstra, Bengaluru Onsite

Build and lead native Swift development for Telstra’s My Telstra self-service app and B2B customer applications in Bengaluru. Drive architecture, quality, security, delivery, and technical mentoring across iOS products.

Description

  • Build and maintain high-quality native iOS applications and reusable components with modern Swift technologies
  • Support solution design, technical planning, estimation, and architecture discussions
  • Assess dependencies, risks, and opportunities to improve engineering outcomes
  • Promote engineering excellence through reviews, automated testing, secure coding, performance optimisation, accessibility, and continuous improvement
  • Manage features through design, development, release, production support, and ongoing maintenance
  • Partner with Product, Design, Architecture, Security, Quality Engineering, and Operations teams
  • Lead technical initiatives, mentor engineers, share expertise, and provide technical guidance
  • Turn customer and business requirements into maintainable technical solutions
  • Help shape architecture and support software throughout the complete development lifecycle
  • Drive improvements and solutions for the Telstra Self Service App and other B2B customer applications

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of advanced iOS development experience with Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit, and modern Apple frameworks
  • Strong engineering judgement and expertise in scalable architecture, reusable components, and mobile development best practices
  • Experience delivering secure, accessible, and quality-focused software
  • Practical experience with automated testing, CI/CD, and modern development workflows
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve complex production, performance, and reliability problems in high-availability environments
  • Experience using APIs, microservices, observability tools, and AI-assisted engineering capabilities such as GitHub Copilot
  • Strong technical leadership, stakeholder influence, mentoring, and collaboration abilities
  • Apple, cloud, security, accessibility, AI, or agile certifications are desirable
  • Android development experience and an interest in developing further in this area are desirable
  • Experience evolving iOS architecture, modularising applications, implementing design systems, and improving accessibility and performance at scale is desirable
  • Experience in large-scale digital product environments with multiple delivery teams and shared platforms is desirable
  • Basic knowledge of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) is desirable
  • Ability to create and configure AI agents and reusable skills is desirable
  • Successful candidates will complete a background check during the hiring process
