Description

  • Review the current datacenter infrastructure, technology environment, and interdependencies
  • Translate business, security, operational, and resilience needs into guiding architecture principles
  • Create target designs for compute, storage, networking, virtualization, backup, disaster recovery, and automation
  • Assess on-premises, hybrid-cloud, and externally managed infrastructure approaches
  • Benchmark technology platforms and vendors against objective technical standards
  • Build architecture options and evaluate their feasibility, compatibility, risks, and long-term fit
  • Determine opportunities for infrastructure reuse, lifecycle management, and modernization
  • Set out a high-level migration plan with key dependencies and risks
  • Supply technical estimates and inputs for licensing, capacity, support, migration work, and total cost of ownership
  • Present architecture proposals and decision documents to senior stakeholders

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience in infrastructure, cloud, systems, or enterprise architecture, including complex transformation programs
  • Comprehensive end-to-end knowledge of datacenter architecture spanning compute, storage, networking, virtualization, backup, disaster recovery, and monitoring
  • Advanced experience architecting Microsoft Azure environments, including landing zones, networking, security, storage, monitoring, and cost optimization
  • Background designing and assessing on-premises, hybrid-cloud, and public-cloud environments
  • Strong enterprise virtualization and VDI expertise with VMware, Hyper-V, and Citrix
  • Track record leading large datacenter or cloud migrations, including assessments, technology evaluations, and migration planning
  • Solid understanding of Infrastructure as Code, FinOps, DevSecOps, and operational governance
  • Ability to assess infrastructure lifecycles, resilience, vendor dependencies, and operating models
  • Experience advising senior stakeholders and presenting architecture recommendations at executive level
  • Excellent written and spoken English
