Description

  • Lead the development and global support of Ignition standards, pipelines, databases, and interfaces
  • Direct the design, testing, implementation, and training of HMI and SCADA systems connected to instrumentation, PLCs, and OITs
  • Support on-premises and cloud infrastructure that enables local and remote system access
  • Manage complex projects and processes with minimal managerial supervision
  • Coach junior professionals, review their work, and delegate assignments
  • Lead customer-facing discussions about technical architectures
  • Commission systems on site and execute FAT and SAT procedures
  • Train client operations and maintenance personnel
  • Diagnose production issues and improve system performance
  • Develop disaster recovery and high-availability solutions
  • Produce functional design specifications and keep as-built documentation current

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a comparable field
  • At least seven years of hands-on experience designing, developing, and deploying Ignition SCADA systems using Vision and/or Perspective
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, Java, and other programming languages
  • Experience architecting enterprise Ignition 8.x SCADA environments, including Perspective HMI/SCADA applications, Vision projects, and Gateway infrastructure
  • Experience with UDT hierarchies, Tag Historian setup, Transaction Groups, and alarming systems aligned with ISA-95 and ISA-88 standards
  • Experience creating Named Queries, database schemas, and integration logic for SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or comparable enterprise databases
  • Experience with OPC UA, Modbus TCP/RTU, MQTT Sparkplug B, and REST API development through the WebDev module
  • Experience building reusable component libraries and custom scripting modules for Gateway, Designer, and Client scopes
  • Understanding of version-control best practices
  • Knowledge of Python/Jython scripting standards and architectural patterns
  • Experience leading customer-facing technical architecture discussions
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity standards such as ISA/IEC 62443 and IT/OT network design
  • Ability to commission systems on site, conduct FAT and SAT procedures, and train clients
  • Ability to resolve production issues, improve performance, and implement disaster recovery and high-availability strategies
  • Ability to document system architectures, functional design specifications, and as-built records
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
