Senior Fund Accounting Analyst - Pune (Onsite)

Join Northern Trust’s fund accounting team supporting Pune and Bangalore operations. Reconcile complex funds, prepare NAV reporting, review controls, resolve exceptions, and help deliver transitions and team training.

Description

  • Handle day-to-day fund accounting responsibilities
  • Assess and reconcile complex mutual, commingled, and collective investment funds
  • Prepare client month-end reports and daily valuation outputs
  • Validate complex transactions and review income reports within required timelines
  • Investigate and clear daily fund-account exceptions
  • Conduct quality checks on data received from supporting teams
  • Coordinate with home-location teams to address and resolve queries
  • Draft, maintain, and revise fund accounting procedures
  • Follow established controls, procedures, and company policies
  • Review and approve NAV files prepared by other team members
  • Help Team Leaders and Section Managers onboard transitions from home locations
  • Deliver scheduled work on time while keeping checklists and files complete
  • Find process efficiencies and improvement opportunities that reduce risk
  • Use available technology effectively to support operational work
  • Escalate operational issues to the manager
  • Raise potential service-delivery delays as soon as they are identified
  • Review daily controls and share procedural updates or improvement ideas
  • Help train and coach new team members

Requirements

  • Demonstrated subject-matter knowledge of Northern Trust’s business
  • Strong operations expertise, including secondary review, controls, risks, and mitigation practices
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Capability to resolve technical and non-technical issues independently
  • Experience sharing knowledge and delivering training sessions
  • Proactive approach to troubleshooting and escalation management
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with global teams
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
  • Skill in managing daily tasks and escalating issues appropriately
  • Working proficiency with Excel, including process macros and automations
  • At least 24 months of sustained performance demonstrating the core skills and competencies required in the current role
  • Two to four years of relevant experience
  • Availability to work flexible shifts
