Senior Full-Stack Developer, Node.js, React, PWA, MongoDB — Emerson (Hybrid, India)

Lead architecture and delivery for Emerson’s enterprise full-stack applications using Node.js, React, Progressive Web Apps, and MongoDB. Drive performance, engineering quality, production reliability, and developer mentorship.

Description

  • Own the design and delivery of complex full-stack capabilities, from data models and API contracts through React PWA development and production release
  • Build scalable Node.js services and REST APIs with Express.js or NestJS
  • Establish patterns for authentication, error management, API versioning, and performance
  • Own PWA architecture across service workers, offline caching, push notifications, and installability
  • Shape MongoDB schemas, aggregation approaches, and broader data architecture decisions
  • Create responsive, mobile-friendly React interfaces with touch-focused interactions and performance improvements
  • Raise engineering quality through standards, reviews, technical debt management, and consistent development practices
  • Support the growth of junior and mid-level developers through reviews, pairing, and technical coaching
  • Investigate production incidents and improve Node.js, MongoDB, and React/PWA performance
  • Provide engineering perspective on roadmaps, feasibility, risk assessment, and build-versus-buy choices
  • Take part in Agile ceremonies and sprint planning

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related discipline
  • At least eight years of full-stack web development experience, including substantial Node.js backend and React frontend work
  • Expertise building production Node.js services with Express.js or NestJS, REST API design, middleware, JWT/OAuth2 authentication, performance tuning, and service reliability
  • Advanced React knowledge covering component architecture, hooks, Redux or Context API, code splitting, and performance optimization
  • Demonstrated ability to architect and launch Progressive Web Applications using service workers, Cache API, Workbox, web app manifests, push notifications, and installability features
  • Experience building mobile- and tablet-optimized web applications with responsive, touch-friendly designs, Core Web Vitals awareness, and cross-device testing
  • Strong practical MongoDB experience spanning document and collection design, aggregation pipelines, indexing, performance optimization, and data modeling
  • Expertise in REST API documentation, governance, authentication, versioning, contract design, and enterprise integrations
  • Familiarity with Git branching, Azure DevOps or comparable CI/CD tooling, and sprint-based development
  • Strong written and spoken English communication
  • Advanced Workbox knowledge is preferred
  • Familiarity with the Web Push API and push notification infrastructure is preferred
  • GraphQL or WebSocket experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture is preferred
  • Experience with Jest, Cypress, Playwright, and PWA-focused automated testing is preferred
  • Familiarity with Docker and containerized deployment pipelines is preferred
  • Exposure to Microsoft Azure is preferred
