Senior Firmware Engineer - Kidde Global Solutions, Gdansk (Hybrid)

Develop secure embedded firmware, cybersecurity capabilities, and connectivity for professional security systems at Kidde Global Solutions. Lead firmware architecture, compliance, and integration for devices used to protect buildings and businesses worldwide.

Description

  • Design next-generation professional security systems
  • Integrate modern cybersecurity capabilities into embedded devices
  • Strengthen secure firmware updates and bootloader mechanisms
  • Improve embedded-system performance
  • Develop product platforms shared across multiple devices
  • Address real-time software challenges in RTOS environments
  • Implement application programming interfaces
  • Lead architecture decisions for critical firmware components
  • Shape hardware design, communication protocols, and cybersecurity implementation across product lines
  • Define integration logic for Everon product-family devices compliant with EN50131 Grade 3
  • Partner with QA on solution quality, debugging, and defect resolution
  • Support verification, validation, certification, and production activities
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Hardware, Compliance, and Cybersecurity teams
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, design specifications, and internal development guidelines
  • Coordinate with global engineering teams across time zones

Requirements

  • Strong experience with Embedded C
  • Background in cybersecurity
  • Experience with ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers
  • Knowledge of RTOS and bare-metal development
  • Experience debugging embedded systems
  • Fluent English
  • Experience with secure boot or secure firmware updates is preferred
  • Experience with RF or sub-GHz systems is preferred
  • Experience with EN50131 or the security industry is preferred
  • Ability or willingness to relocate to Gdansk
