Senior DevOps Engineer, India (Remote)

Own Karat’s AWS infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and observability for its technical interviewing platform. Improve service reliability, security, performance, and cost efficiency.

Description

  • Evolve infrastructure, delivery systems, and operating practices so engineering teams can build and run reliable software.
  • Develop scalable approaches to cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, observability, alerting, operational readiness, and maintenance.
  • Work with software engineers to improve developer experience and the reliability, security, performance, and cost efficiency of Karat’s hosted SaaS platform.
  • Own and improve Karat’s AWS SaaS infrastructure.
  • Design, improve, and operate CI/CD pipelines with CircleCI and related tools.
  • Build and maintain observability with metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, and actionable alerts using Datadog and related tools.
  • Apply SRE principles to reliability, availability, performance, capacity planning, incident response, root-cause analysis, and operational learning.
  • Shape engineering-wide technical decisions and delivery practices through collaboration and shared standards.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, or a related field.
  • Substantial hands-on experience running AWS workloads in production.
  • Experience designing, operating, and improving CI/CD systems using CircleCI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or another major platform.
  • Strong experience with Docker and containerized applications.
  • Strong fundamentals in Linux, networking, security, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Practical experience applying SRE principles in production, including observability, alerting, incident response, root-cause analysis, capacity planning, and reliability improvements.
  • Hands-on experience with a major telemetry and observability platform such as Datadog, New Relic, Dynatrace, Grafana Cloud, or Splunk.
  • Experience designing monitoring and alerting systems.
  • Experience managing and optimizing cloud costs.
  • Experience working with application engineering teams.
  • Clear written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Ability to work with globally distributed teams and collaborate regularly with colleagues in the United States.
  • Must live in Bengaluru, India (formerly known as Bangalore).
  • Availability to overlap with U.S. business hours.
