Senior DevOps Engineer (Hybrid, Malta)

Lead the reliability, scalability, and capacity of gaming platform services through automation, monitoring, and infrastructure engineering. Support Kubernetes-based deployments, CI/CD, and operational excellence for resilient iGaming systems.

Description

  • Own the health, performance, and capacity of gaming platform services.
  • Diagnose problems across hardware, software, applications, networks, and the wider technology stack.
  • Find and implement opportunities to strengthen automation.
  • Build detailed application knowledge and help shape system designs.
  • Promote consistent standards across services and technical disciplines.
  • Resolve critical and complex incidents promptly while meeting SLA commitments.
  • Create, configure, and improve service monitoring, application monitoring, and telemetry.
  • Support the rollout and deployment of new product features and installations.
  • Build tooling for rapid deployment and effective monitoring of applications and services at scale.
  • Partner with development teams to design platforms for reliable operation.
  • Operate and oversee the core gaming platform to maintain agreed SLAs.
  • Automate the delivery and management of systems, infrastructure services, and applications.
  • Create infrastructure and support strategies, processes, and procedures.
  • Contribute code regularly to CI/CD pipelines.

Requirements

  • Five to seven years of experience in SRE or DevOps roles.
  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science or an equivalent qualification.
  • A demonstrated record of operating multi-node, multi-tier web application architectures.
  • Experience maintaining long-lived APIs and microservices.
  • Experience with persistent key-value stores such as ETCD or Redis.
  • Experience using continuous integration tools such as GitHub Actions and Jenkins.
  • Experience with continuous deployment tools such as Argo CD.
  • Senior-level proficiency with Kubernetes.
  • Experience using Kubernetes package managers including Helm and Helmfile.
  • Experience orchestrating Kubernetes environments with OpenShift.
  • Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible.
  • Senior-level experience with message streaming and queueing platforms such as RabbitMQ and Kafka.
