- Automate AWS build pipelines, deployment workflows, and configuration management.
- Develop and maintain AWS infrastructure for the HP DS Stack, its applications, and the DS Platform.
- Build and release engineering tools for data repositories, source control, and deployment automation.
- Apply software engineering practices covering version control, branching, build validation, smoke testing, archiving, and retention.
- Maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting infrastructure across local, on-premises, and cloud applications.
- Address real-time scaling needs and operational incidents.
- Administer multiple environments through access controls and processes that protect environment integrity.
- Implement infrastructure and product security policies and best practices.
- Partner with developers to promote efficient resource usage and manage AWS hosting costs.
- Create and document operational standards and recommended practices.
- Maintain the efficiency, reliability, and availability of systems, subsystems, and software applications.
- Coordinate with management and internal stakeholders on project status and issue resolution.
- Represent software applications engineering in larger and more complex development initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a comparable field.
- At least five years of relevant Software DevOps Engineer experience or equivalent experience.
- Experience deploying cloud-based services, architectures, and platforms.
- Practical experience with Docker containerization and Kubernetes orchestration.
- Experience with AWS services including EC2, RDS, IAM, Lambda, SQS, and SNS.
- Experience with cloud monitoring or dashboarding.
- Experience adapting existing applications for cloud environments.
- Working knowledge and hands-on experience with Bash, Python 3.x, Go, Groovy, or Terraform.
- Deep understanding of the software development life cycle, branching strategies, and source control tools such as GitHub.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum software development methods.
- Strong practical experience with AWS platform services and tools.
- Strong experience implementing complete CI/CD pipelines.
- Practical deployment and hosting experience with Docker, Beanstalk, and CloudFormation.
- Practical experience provisioning Kubernetes clusters.
- Scripting experience with Bash, Shell, Python, Perl, PHP, or PowerShell.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum processes and tools, including ADO, GitHub, and CI/CD.
- Practical experience with SQL and NoSQL systems, including MySQL, MSSQL, MongoDB, and DynamoDB.
- Familiarity with Azure or Google Cloud Platform is advantageous.
- Web hosting experience with Apache, Tomcat, or JBoss is advantageous.
- People leadership abilities covering collaboration, mentoring, technical development, motivation, and communication.
