Senior Data Solutions Architect at RSM US Chicago Onsite

Lead RSM US’s enterprise data modeling standards and canonical data hub. Define integration contracts connecting source platforms with downstream data consumers.

Description

  • Set standards for conceptual, logical, and physical enterprise data models, including conformed dimensions and canonical model governance.
  • Architect and maintain the canonical data hub and integration contracts linking systems such as Workday, CRM, and tax platforms to downstream consumers.
  • Collaborate with the Boomi iPaaS and API Gateway Architect on orchestration, routing, and contract version management.
  • Assess and apply Kimball, Inmon, and Data Vault 2.0 modeling approaches.
  • Create entity relationship diagrams and metadata-driven schema patterns when appropriate.
  • Coordinate with the Data Platforms Solution Architect to align canonical models with lakehouse and medallion consumption layers.
  • Define standards for master and reference data synchronization, including change-data-capture strategies.
  • Lead data model reviews for ARB submissions and deliver architecture review reports with severity-based findings and action items.
  • Keep the data dictionary, model documentation, and integration interface catalogs current.
  • Provide hyper-care for new integrations and lead root cause analysis of defects related to data models.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience in data modeling and/or integration architecture.
  • At least 4 years of experience working in enterprise environments.
  • Advanced hands-on experience with conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling and ER modeling tools.
  • Experience designing canonical data models and API or iPaaS integration contracts using Boomi AtomSphere or a comparable platform.
  • Familiarity with API gateway and reverse-proxy patterns, including YARP, as well as CQRS architecture.
  • Knowledge of master data management and reference data governance.
  • Experience working in regulated environments under SOC 2 and SOX control requirements.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work with business stakeholders, integration developers, and platform architects.
  • Previous collaboration with data platform architects on lakehouse and medallion consumption patterns.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
