Description

  • Manage and continuously enhance Creditstar’s AWS and Snowflake data platform for reliability, performance, and scale.
  • Improve performance, security, secrets management, and observability throughout the data stack.
  • Monitor and reduce Snowflake and AWS costs while leading FinOps practices for the data team.
  • Develop data governance covering ownership, access, PII controls, lineage, and GDPR-aligned audit readiness.
  • Establish engineering standards for testing, version control, code review, CI/CD, and Git workflows.
  • Manage the integration layer for internal and external data sources.
  • Coordinate data-platform incident response and implement lasting corrective solutions.
  • Partner with DevOps on core infrastructure by defining requirements and evaluating proposed solutions.
  • Enable BI Engineers, Analysts, and Data Scientists through a governed, documented, self-service platform.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience operating and enhancing cloud data platforms built with AWS and Snowflake.
  • Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure, security, and cost management, with the ability to define requirements and evaluate solutions with DevOps.
  • Practical experience with data governance, access controls, and PII management.
  • Background in a regulated sector such as finance, banking, or AML/KYC.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with technical and business stakeholders.
  • A strong sense of ownership, with persistence in resolving issues and preventing their recurrence.
  • An organized approach and the confidence to establish standards in an evolving environment.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset suited to a rapidly scaling organization.
  • Fluent spoken and written English.
  • Preferred: experience with cloud cost optimization and FinOps practices.
  • Preferred: familiarity with modern table formats such as Apache Iceberg and Delta Lake.
  • Preferred: bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with AWS services including EC2, EMR, MWAA, and RDS.
  • Experience with Snowflake.
  • Experience with Airflow and dbt.
  • Experience with Spark and Docker.
  • Experience with Kafka.
