Senior Data Engineer, India (Remote)

Build cloud data pipelines and models at Karat, the world’s largest interviewing company. Improve data quality, reliability, and analytics infrastructure.

Description

  • Build and maintain scalable cloud pipelines for product, operational, and third-party data.
  • Own pipeline architecture, orchestration, monitoring, reliability, performance, and data quality.
  • Create workflows, transformations, and models that turn raw data into trusted, actionable information.
  • Improve data quality with validation, observability, monitoring, and clear ownership of critical datasets.
  • Manage and improve the data stack, including PostgreSQL, Redshift, Airflow, and Terraform.
  • Promote data literacy across technical and non-technical teams through clear communication and partnership.
  • Work with Product, Engineering, Data Science, Analytics, and business teams.

Requirements

  • Bring 5+ years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, machine learning, or a related technical role.
  • Have strong experience building, operating, and improving production data pipelines.
  • Demonstrate expertise in relational and columnar databases, advanced SQL, and dimensional modeling concepts such as fact and dimension tables.
  • Be proficient in Python, Docker, and workflow orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow.
  • Have hands-on experience with AWS or a comparable cloud platform.
  • Apply sound software engineering practices, including version control, code review, testing, observability, and documentation.
  • Communicate effectively in written and spoken English.
  • Collaborate effectively with globally distributed teams.
  • Reside in Bengaluru, India (formerly Bangalore).
