Senior Controller - Sceye (Onsite, New Mexico)

Lead accounting operations, reporting, controls, and financial planning for Sceye’s stratospheric communications and remote-sensing platforms. Partner with the CFO in a high-growth aerospace technology environment.

Description

  • Direct daily accounting activities across the general ledger, payables, receivables, cash, fixed assets, and reconciliations
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close cycles
  • Prepare and review U.S. GAAP financial statements and management reports
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash planning, and financial analysis
  • Collaborate with the CFO and leadership team to inform financial and business decisions
  • Lead annual audit coordination and act as the main contact for auditors, tax advisors, and financial partners
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local reporting, tax, and regulatory obligations
  • Oversee accounting for capital assets, inventory, purchasing, and operational functions
  • Contribute to cost accounting and financial analysis for engineering, manufacturing, and operations
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation and controls that support organizational growth
  • Find and implement opportunities to streamline, automate, and improve finance processes
  • Lead, coach, and oversee accounting and finance team members
  • Contribute to CFO-directed special projects and finance initiatives

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline is required
  • At least 8 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including substantial accounting leadership experience
  • Strong command of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting standards
  • Proven ability to manage month-end and year-end close activities
  • Experience designing and maintaining sound internal controls and accounting procedures
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-moving organization with changing processes and priorities
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work with technical and non-technical teams
  • High integrity, sound judgment, discretion, and strong attention to detail
  • Advanced proficiency with accounting or ERP platforms and Microsoft Excel
  • CPA or CMA certification is preferred
  • Background in aerospace, technology, manufacturing, or another complex engineering-led environment is preferred
  • Experience with cost accounting, inventory, and project-based accounting is preferred
  • Experience supporting external audits and collaborating with outside accounting and tax firms is preferred
  • Experience scaling finance and accounting infrastructure in a high-growth organization is preferred
