Senior Cloud Engineer, AWS GovCloud

Lead secure AWS GovCloud architecture and enterprise-scale operations supporting CACI’s national-security missions. Drive automation, compliance, disaster recovery, and cloud reliability across complex environments.

Description

  • Architect and optimize AWS GovCloud environments to support business and mission objectives
  • Develop operational plans that strengthen system performance, reliability, and scalability
  • Help administrators deploy and manage infrastructure-as-a-service and infrastructure-as-code solutions
  • Maintain the security and compliance of Department of Defense systems
  • Apply NIST SP 800-171 controls, DISA STIGs, and DFARS 252.204-7012 requirements
  • Design and implement disaster recovery strategies spanning multiple regions
  • Convert strategic priorities into actionable operational plans
  • Improve existing systems and processes through targeted technical enhancements
  • Address complex, ambiguous, and poorly defined technical challenges
  • Engage effectively with technical teams, business partners, and executive stakeholders
  • Present high-level briefings to senior leaders and help shape decisions
  • Coach, mentor, and support technical team members
  • Direct major initiatives involving multiple teams and disciplines
  • Act as the technical authority for AWS architecture, cloud security, automation, and enterprise-scale operations

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in a relevant field
  • At least 10 years of systems or software engineering experience
  • Active Secret clearance required at the start of employment
  • AWS certifications are required
  • Advanced expertise in AWS architecture, automation, security compliance, and large-scale operational planning
  • Working knowledge of NIST SP 800-171 controls, DISA STIGs, and DFARS 252.204-7012 requirements
  • Demonstrated leadership, innovation, and executive-level communication abilities
  • Willingness to travel locally up to 10%
