Senior Civil Engineer – Rail, Arcadis | Cardiff Hybrid

Arcadis is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to deliver sustainable rail infrastructure designs in a hybrid Cardiff role. The position covers technical design preparation and multidisciplinary rail project coordination across the UK.

Description

  • Design and deliver rail engineering projects that satisfy quality, safety, and client requirements
  • Develop practical engineering solutions from feasibility through implementation
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute activities within multidisciplinary project teams
  • Prepare and review technical designs, reports, drawings, and specifications against applicable standards
  • Provide technical guidance to clients and stakeholders for project decisions
  • Work with colleagues to deliver consistent, high-quality project outputs on schedule
  • Promote safety, inclusion, and continuous improvement across project activities
  • Share expertise and support the development of less experienced team members

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering
  • Civil engineering design experience in the railway sector, including knowledge of relevant rail standards and processes
  • Experience contributing to multidisciplinary project teams
  • Ability to produce clear, accurate, concise technical documents and reports
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for building effective working relationships
  • Proactive, adaptable approach with a commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Working toward or holding Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status with ICE or IStructE is desirable
  • Awareness of digital engineering tools and environments
