Senior C/C++ Software Engineer in Prague

Join ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions as a senior software engineer developing C/C++ biometric SDKs, device drivers, and security software for HID. This full-time, on-site Prague role focuses on low-level systems for Windows and Linux.

Description

  • Build, test, and maintain robust software solutions primarily in C and C++
  • Create software for Windows and Linux with a focus on performance, reliability, and security
  • Develop system-level components such as communication libraries, biometric SDKs, middleware, device drivers, and security infrastructure
  • Deliver software components that satisfy functional specifications, quality expectations, and project schedules
  • Help shape software architecture, modules, technical specifications, and documentation
  • Use multithreading, interprocess communication, and system programming techniques
  • Work closely with colleagues, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams
  • Review code and follow established engineering processes and best practices
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements in software quality, security, and maintainability

Requirements

  • Substantial professional experience developing software in C or C++
  • Experience creating device drivers for Windows, Linux, Android, or iOS
  • Strong practical knowledge of either Windows or Linux, plus at least basic familiarity with the other platform
  • Understanding of secure coding methods and platform-independent development practices
  • Familiarity with applied cryptography, PKI, X.509 certificates, and information security principles
  • Experience with virtualization tools such as VMware or remote access platforms such as Citrix
  • Working knowledge of Python for build, testing, or automation scripts
  • Experience with image processing, computer vision, and configuring or optimizing Image Signal Processing (ISP/ISDP) pipelines
  • Familiarity with camera imaging systems, image quality evaluation, and related software frameworks
  • Basic understanding of artificial intelligence or deep learning concepts
  • Experience using software development tools and source control systems, preferably Git
  • Understanding of multithreading, multitasking, and interprocess communication
  • Able to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, and complete assignments with limited supervision
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team
  • Bachelor’s degree at minimum, with a Master’s preferred, in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline
  • At least 5 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree or 3 years with a Master’s degree
  • Working knowledge of Czech or Slovak
  • Currently and legally authorized to live and work in the Czech Republic
  • Immigration sponsorship is not available
