Senior Backend Developer - Java and Spring Boot

Description

  • Build and operate service-oriented Java backends with Spring Boot in Kubernetes
  • Design, document, and version high-performance REST APIs
  • Improve integrations with beA, Microsoft 365, and webhooks
  • Help develop new product modules
  • Model data, optimize queries, and migrate SQL databases under production workloads
  • Take operational ownership of the systems you build
  • Establish observability with logging, metrics, and tracing
  • Detect and track system capacity constraints
  • Support ISO 27001 compliance through auditability, traceable data flows, and strong access controls
  • Work with Java, Spring Boot, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD
  • Build and maintain REST APIs while preparing for future asynchronous processing patterns
  • Use Microsoft Graph API, beA/KSW adapters, webhooks, and n8n
  • Apply SCA tools, automated unit and integration tests, and pipeline quality gates

Requirements

  • At least five years of professional software development experience
  • At least three years of production experience with Java and Spring Boot
  • Experience operating production systems with demanding quality and security requirements
  • Strong knowledge of REST API design, service-oriented architecture, and relational data modeling under production workloads
  • Practical experience deploying, scaling, and operating applications with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Regular, considered use of coding agents such as Claude Code
  • Ability to keep generated code reviewable, testable, and maintainable
  • Structured and analytical approach to problem-solving
  • Willingness to take ownership of developed systems and their operation
  • Clear communication with team members
  • Very good German language skills
  • Experience in regulated or sensitive areas such as legal tech, data protection, auditability, or multi-tenancy is an advantage
  • Developer-level knowledge of ISO 27001 is an advantage
  • Knowledge of asynchronous processing patterns is an advantage
