Senior Adobe Experience Manager Engineer - ASSA ABLOY, Berlin, CT

Senior AEM engineer responsible for building and integrating enterprise web platforms at ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions in an onsite Berlin, Connecticut role. The position covers AEM architecture, integrations, performance, content delivery, and platform support.

Description

  • Lead AEM and integration-platform projects from planning through delivery with external partners.
  • Coordinate with developers, under technical-lead direction, to implement business requirements.
  • Maintain existing implementations through enhancements, troubleshooting, and defect resolution.
  • Define, document, and peer-review technical approaches that meet business needs.
  • Deliver enterprise AEM integrations involving third-party client-side systems and request-response workflows.
  • Capture technical and functional requirements from business stakeholders and translate them into AEM user-interface solutions.
  • Develop implementation plans with the team and present proposed approaches and estimates for approval.
  • Build AEM capabilities using modern design patterns for custom functionality and external integrations.
  • Recommend technical alternatives that improve efficiency, reuse, and long-term maintainability.
  • Help shape architecture decisions and engineering standards.
  • Work within agile delivery practices.

Requirements

  • Extensive hands-on expertise with AEM Components, Editable Templates, Client Libraries, taxonomy, metadata, replication, workflows, publishing, tagging, Campaigns, Analytics, and Targeting.
  • Strong experience designing efficient, reusable AEM library delivery across multiple tenants.
  • Experience with or knowledge of third-party integrations such as search, authentication handlers, web services, and CRM systems.
  • Experience with e-commerce platforms, particularly Magento or Salesforce Commerce Cloud, is highly desirable.
  • Solid understanding of integration and content-centric application patterns using AEM, search, commerce packages, or comparable platforms.
  • Understanding of AEM Multi Site Manager, Blueprinting, advanced targeting and personalization, and multivariate testing.
  • Experience delivering multi-tenant AEM solutions.
  • Experience implementing tagging and data layers for complex analytics, targeting, and personalization use cases.
  • Experience performing code reviews and applying standards for security, efficiency, readability, and reuse.
  • At least five years of experience delivering enterprise solutions.
  • At least three years of AEM Touch UI development experience with version 6.4 or later.
  • At least four years of experience designing and delivering AEM site builds.
  • Experience with Editable Templates; Touch UI Components using React, Sightly, JSP, Java, or Angular; Servlets; Services; third-party integrations; server-side caching; Atomic Design; jQuery or ES6 client libraries; Sling Models; Experience and Content Fragments; Context Hub and Campaign; OSGi configuration; Styling System and multitenant architecture; MSM; debugging; performance optimization; SEO debugging; and tracking.
  • Experience using Bitbucket, GitHub, Jira, and Confluence.
  • Experience with cloud platforms used for hosting.
  • Experience designing CI/CD processes.
  • Experience customizing GDPR presentations.
  • Demonstrated ownership, accountability, broad web and digital knowledge, and strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills; Adobe AEM Developer or Adobe AEM Advanced Developer certification is a plus.
