Senior Accounting Analyst - Remote (United States)

Support GAAP close, reconciliations, audits, forecasting, and financial reporting for Evernorth Health Services. This remote role also focuses on financial controls, process improvement, and automation.

Description

  • Own and complete month-end close activities under GAAP
  • Prepare and review journal entries with complete supporting records
  • Complete and review balance sheet reconciliations and account analyses
  • Match internal accounting records with bank statements and investigate discrepancies
  • Work with cross-functional partners to accurately and promptly record accruals, prepaids, and other financial transactions
  • Evaluate P&L variances and balance sheet movements
  • Spot financial trends and communicate variance explanations to management
  • Assist with forecasts and recurring financial reporting
  • Deliver on-demand analysis and insights to key stakeholders
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to requests
  • Help advance accounting processes through improvement and automation initiatives
  • Increase operational efficiency while reinforcing financial controls

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline
  • At least two years of progressively responsible accounting experience
  • Solid command of GAAP and fundamental accounting principles
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience with ERP platforms such as SAP or Oracle is preferred
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain financial information to finance and non-finance audiences
  • Ability to balance competing priorities and deliver against deadlines in a fast-paced setting
  • Home internet via cable broadband or fiber optic service providing at least 10 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload
