SBA Credit Analyst - U.S. Bank Onsite

Evaluate borrower risk and support SBA loan decisions at U.S. Bank in an onsite credit analyst role. Assess financial statements, collateral, cash flow, portfolio quality, and compliance.

Description

  • Approve credit extensions and recommend final lending decisions for new, renewed, extended, and SBA-guaranteed loans
  • Complete credit reviews by collecting, assessing, and interpreting relevant borrower and credit information
  • Assess borrower eligibility, repayment ability, collateral sufficiency, and compliance with SBA lending rules and program standards
  • Examine customer accounts and portfolios, including SBA 7(a) and 504 loans, to identify and resolve credit quality, servicing, and compliance concerns
  • Review financial statements, cash flow, collateral, and relevant industry trends
  • Follow bank credit policies and SBA Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Apply technology and software tools to assess credits and portfolios and evaluate alternative courses of action
  • Provide credit recommendations and make credit decisions within assigned authority
  • Work with lending, underwriting, servicing, and portfolio management teams
  • Advance SBA lending initiatives while maintaining accurate credit records and sound risk assessments

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or comparable professional experience
  • Usually six or more years of relevant experience
  • Strong capabilities in credit analysis and broader analytical work
  • In-depth understanding of credit analysis, credit administration, credit policies and procedures, and risk analysis
  • Comprehensive knowledge of SBA lending programs, including 7(a) and 504 structures, underwriting factors, and servicing obligations
  • Academic or professional background in economics, accounting, or finance
  • Ability to write technical reports, including credit memorandums and loan approval packages
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency navigating computers and using a range of software applications
  • Experience evaluating financial statements, tax returns, cash flow analyses, collateral valuations, and guarantor support for SBA transactions
  • A master’s degree or CPA certification is preferred
  • Ability to follow U.S. Bank policies and procedures, including its Code of Ethics and Business Conduct and applicable workplace conduct and safety requirements
