Description

  • Report to the Senior Revenue Accounting Manager within the Revenue Accounting organization
  • Supervise a small team of full-time accountants plus outsourced and contract contributors
  • Manage assigned revenue accounting areas and their associated close responsibilities
  • Run monthly close processes covering journal entries, reconciliations, variance reviews, and management reporting
  • Maintain and improve SOX controls across assigned revenue processes
  • Coordinate responses to internal and external audit inquiries
  • Develop team members, establish priorities, review work, and address close-related issues
  • Escalate material accounting judgments, risks, and delays to the Senior Revenue Accounting Manager
  • Collaborate with Technical Accounting, Finance, Legal, Data & Engineering, Sales Operations, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and business stakeholders
  • Drive process enhancements and automation, including the use of AI tools in accounting workflows
  • Research discrepancies in automated and scripted revenue entries and implement corrective actions
  • Create accounting documentation for new products and keep standard operating procedures current
  • Evaluate revenue recognition and accounting effects of new products, features, and platform experiments
  • Prepare preliminary accounting analyses and work with Technical Accounting on significant judgments
  • Review test transactions and Snowflake source data, verify entries before launch, and automate related accounting processes

Requirements

  • At least six years of progressive accounting experience, including revenue accounting, accounting operations, and financial systems
  • Experience combining Big Four public accounting and corporate accounting work is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline
  • CPA certification is preferred
  • At least two years of direct experience managing and developing accounting professionals
  • Experience managing outsourced or contract resources is preferred
  • Advanced understanding of U.S. GAAP, ASC 606 revenue recognition, and SOX or internal controls
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Excel
  • Experience working with high volumes of transactional data
  • Familiarity with ERP or revenue management systems is preferred
  • SQL experience is preferred, along with willingness to build and use SQL skills
  • Interest in using AI and automation to improve accounting efficiency and accuracy
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, sound judgment, and flexibility as priorities change
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain accounting and data matters to non-accounting partners and leaders at all levels
