Remote Accounts Receivable Specialist - Colorado or Ohio

MediaNews Group is seeking a remote Accounts Receivable Specialist to support credit, collections, billing, and cash receipt activities. The role is open to candidates residing in Colorado or Ohio.

Description

  • Manage credit and collections activities.
  • Support billing, cash receipts, and related accounting work as required.
  • Review accounts receivable aging and customer accounts to reduce overdue balances.
  • Conduct customer credit assessments when needed.
  • Initiate collection outreach by phone, email, fax, and letter.
  • Coordinate escalated collection actions with Circulation and Advertising Managers.
  • Share accounts receivable aging reports and review issues with Circulation and Advertising Managers.
  • Operate and maintain accounts receivable collections modules within circulation and advertising systems.
  • Analyze customer revenue and accounts receivable trends.
  • Improve procedures and communicate tactfully, diplomatically, and ethically with clients and colleagues.

Requirements

  • Analyze and resolve problems with limited supervision.
  • Understand accounting processes and internal controls.
  • Combine urgency with careful attention to detail.
  • Create Excel spreadsheets using formulas when needed.
  • Demonstrate 10-key data-entry proficiency.
  • Work effectively with colleagues and teams.
  • Provide strong customer service.
  • Experience with automated collections, accounts receivable, or accounting systems is preferred.
  • Use PC applications, including email, word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet software; Gmail, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel are preferred.
  • Hold a GED or high school diploma.
  • An associate degree is preferred.
  • Submit to and pass required pre-employment background checks.
