Description

  • Create product concepts informed by user needs, cultural shifts and emerging technology.
  • Explore AI and intelligent interactions that connect people with products and services.
  • Turn research into product opportunities, design stories and distinctive concepts.
  • Shape product architecture, proportions, details and defining design features.
  • Guide design work from initial concept to final proposal.
  • Produce and refine sketches, 2D concepts, 3D CAD, physical models, prototypes and visualisations.
  • Build prototypes and demonstrations that show product behaviour, interaction and user experience.
  • Account for materials, CMF, construction, mechanisms, manufacturing methods and technical feasibility.
  • Work with UX, CMF, engineering, technology and business colleagues.
  • Prepare and present compelling design proposals for internal, headquarters and cross-functional reviews.
  • Use generative AI and AI-assisted design alongside motion, real-time visualisation, interactive prototyping and creative coding.
  • Deliver assigned work to project schedules and agreed outputs.
  • Work with studio designers and share knowledge, tools and methods.
  • Support research, concept creation, sketching, CAD, prototyping, visualisation, presentations and cross-functional work.

Requirements

  • Bring strong industrial and product design fundamentals, with familiarity with Samsung’s current design language and aesthetic direction.
  • Have professional industrial or product design experience, preferably in consumer electronics, mobile, home appliances, lifestyle products, furniture or a related field.
  • Hold a BA, MA or equivalent professional experience in industrial design, product design or a related discipline.
  • Provide a portfolio showcasing original concepts, considered form and proportion, close attention to detail and high-quality practical execution.
  • Demonstrate strong sketching, 3D CAD and product development skills.
  • Have experience making physical prototypes, models and design mock-ups.
  • Communicate ideas effectively through visualisation, storytelling and presentations.
  • Understand materials, CMF, construction, manufacturing methods and technical feasibility.
  • Have experience working with multidisciplinary and international teams.
  • Show interest or experience in AI, UX, interaction design, motion and emerging digital design tools.
  • Work independently, set priorities and deliver high-quality work to agreed deadlines.
  • Demonstrate strong 3D CAD capability.
  • Use Rhino as the primary CAD tool, with confidence in SolidWorks, NX or equivalent professional software.
  • Use Adobe Creative Suite and PowerPoint proficiently.
  • Have experience with KeyShot, Cinema 4D or comparable visualisation and motion tools.
  • Be developing skills in generative AI and AI-assisted tools for visualisation, images, animation and video.
