Process Development Engineer III - Catheters (Onsite)

Lead catheter and medical-device process development at Heraeus Medevio. Validate manufacturing processes, tooling, equipment, and technical deliverables.

Description

  • Lead medical-device process design, development, and validation throughout the product development lifecycle
  • Resolve complex technical challenges and guide process-selection decisions
  • Apply Design of Experiments (DOE), pFMEA, DFM, and statistical analysis to support data-driven decisions
  • Develop, implement, maintain, and document manufacturing processes for new product introduction
  • Lead the identification, procurement, and installation of tooling, fixtures, and equipment
  • Oversee documentation, qualification, and verification activities for tooling and equipment
  • Create or apply process-validation protocols and engineering studies that establish technical rationale
  • Mentor fellow engineers and foster a culture of constructive feedback
  • Partner with technicians and production operators to resolve technical issues on the manufacturing floor
  • Build regional relationships and collaborate on the adoption of best practices
  • Complete other assigned responsibilities

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline is strongly preferred; relevant postsecondary education, training, and experience may be considered instead
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience is required; 1 year of relevant experience may substitute for a graduate degree, and 3 years may substitute for a doctorate
  • Medical-device manufacturing or process-development experience in delivery systems or catheters, micro-assembly, reflow, or laser ablation, welding, or marking is highly desirable
  • Working knowledge of process development engineering
  • Ability to make complex, data-driven decisions using statistical methods
  • Experience with process validation, installation qualification, and engineering deliverables across the product development process
  • Ability to identify, execute, and communicate technical and project workstreams
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to senior management, production personnel, and customers
  • Proven ability to build cross-functional relationships and influence outcomes
  • Strong leadership in communicating and championing continuous improvement and change
  • Willingness and ability to travel between the Fridley, Minnesota, and White Bear Lake, Minnesota, sites as needed
