Principal Software Engineer, Post-Trade, DriveWealth Hybrid

Lead the architecture and delivery of low-latency brokerage infrastructure for DriveWealth’s API-based investing platform. Build Java and Go systems, trading APIs, microservices, and post-trade technology while guiding engineering delivery.

Description

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of brokerage systems
  • Own the architecture and delivery of high-performance, low-latency brokerage platforms built with Java and Go
  • Evaluate application and database performance, health, and technology needs
  • Build and maintain REST APIs and microservices
  • Partner with Broker Dealer Operations to enhance trading and backend systems across equities, options, mutual funds, and other asset classes
  • Define technical specifications, develop components, update the software stack, and prepare test data and functional specifications
  • Investigate service and application performance using relevant languages, tools, and engineering methods
  • Create and maintain automated testing frameworks and continuous integration and delivery pipelines
  • Provide technical direction and mentorship to engineering colleagues
  • Help non-technical staff use software and hardware systems effectively
  • Support applications through integration, test planning, scripting, and troubleshooting

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
  • 10 or more years of software engineering experience, including deep Java expertise
  • Practical knowledge of test-driven development and effective unit and integration testing
  • Strong command of continuous integration and delivery practices and automated testing frameworks
  • Advanced experience building resilient REST APIs and sophisticated event-driven architectures with Kafka and Kubernetes
  • Professional experience in financial technology or capital markets
  • Proficiency with NoSQL, SQL, and stored procedures in databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL
  • Experience with Unix and Linux systems, including scripts for extracting and transforming data
  • Familiarity with Jira, Git, and Jenkins
  • Experience supporting highly available, around-the-clock architectures
  • Extensive experience with Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure
  • Experience working with Scrum and other Agile methodologies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Authorization to work for any U.S. employer; current or future visa sponsorship is not available
  • Several years of fintech experience in post-trade, payments, or SaaS is preferred but not required
