Description

  • Lead the backend and internal platform layer connecting Redesign’s infrastructure with its applied AI products
  • Develop APIs, databases, services, resource models, migrations, and access patterns for Redesign’s core AI operating system
  • Make platform primitives easy to discover, safe to extend, and resistant to misuse
  • Establish agentic coding patterns, harness architecture, memory management, verification loops, and self-improving multi-agent code review
  • Build a reliable route from intent to production for generated code that is safe, standards-compliant, and verified
  • Lead developer experience for infrastructure engineers, applied AI engineers, and domain specialists without formal software backgrounds
  • Create cross-functional tools and interfaces that document essential work and workflows
  • Report directly to a VP of Technology
  • Own a complete technical domain spanning infrastructure and applied AI within a global technology practice
  • Develop the shared backend foundation of data, access, tools, and conventions for applications, agents, and builders

Requirements

  • Bring 10–12 or more years of engineering experience, including substantial work at staff, principal, or equivalent level within a serious software company
  • Have anchored the technical direction of a small, fast-moving team while owning backend, data, developer-platform, or internal-platform systems
  • Demonstrate production backend development experience with Python and/or TypeScript
  • Understand database schemas, migrations, API contracts, authentication, and permissions in depth
  • Bring deep expertise with Postgres or a comparable relational database
  • Have built authorization or identity layers with scoped access for users, services, and agents
  • Have delivered APIs and data services consumed by multiple teams
  • Have built or operated agent-facing infrastructure, including MCP servers and tools, Claude Code or Cursor conventions, skills or plugin systems, sandboxed execution, code-review automation, evaluations, usage and cost controls, and safe defaults
  • Bring product judgment and developer-experience expertise across tools, applications, or internal platforms for experienced engineers and builders without traditional software backgrounds
  • Be proficient with modern agent frameworks such as the Anthropic Agent SDK, Lang* / Deep Agents, or similar technologies
  • Have production experience delivering systems with modern agent frameworks
  • Have built systems around coding agents such as Claude Code, including skills, MCPs, and custom harnesses
  • Show technology as a passion alongside deep commitment to another creative, athletic, family-business, or service pursuit
  • Write clearly in English for API documentation, migration notes, examples, agent instructions, and tool descriptions
  • Be able to design tools, context, permissions, evaluations, memory, and failure recovery with agents treated as first-class users
  • Founder, founding engineer, or 0-to-1 product engineering ownership in a small, fast-moving team is a strong plus
  • A quantitative degree, open-source contributions, published work, or a side project used by others is a bonus
