Description

  • Inspect and assess customer sites in the field
  • Capture existing equipment and system details in company software
  • Help develop project recommendations and calculate potential energy savings
  • Identify mechanical system issues and assist with corrective solutions
  • Collaborate with experienced colleagues who provide training, direction, and feedback
  • Plan and complete assigned project activities
  • Coordinate work with colleagues, contractors, and customers
  • Apply established procedures, company standards, and project specifications
  • Oversee multiple projects and regularly report progress to management
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies, products, and industry developments
  • Work in mechanical rooms and industrial settings
  • Complete project records, reports, analyses, and administrative work from a home office between travel assignments

Requirements

  • An associate or bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, environmental science, or a related discipline is preferred
  • Prior experience in auditing, energy management, construction, or a related field
  • Basic knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, water, steam, and building envelope systems
  • Familiarity with estimating, bidding, or project documentation practices is advantageous
  • Experience gathering and reviewing data to identify trends and improvement opportunities is preferred
  • Basic knowledge of engineering principles and mechanical systems
  • Ability to gather, organize, and accurately analyze data
  • Strong problem-solving ability, including identifying inefficiencies and proposing practical solutions
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organization and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Ability to learn new technologies, industry developments, and regulatory requirements
  • Basic understanding of project costs, return on investment, and energy-saving opportunities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other business software
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in field and remote settings
  • Willingness to travel 80–90% of the time
  • Ability to walk through commercial, industrial, and construction sites for extended periods
  • Ability to access mechanical rooms, equipment areas, rooftops, and other building-system locations
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders and move across uneven surfaces
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach as required
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment, tools, and materials weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to work safely in noisy, dusty, dirty, hot, cold, or dimly lit conditions
  • Ability to work safely around mechanical, electrical, and industrial equipment while following applicable safety procedures
