Onsite Physician Practice Scheduling Coordinator – Allentown

Coordinate physician schedules, patient records, and inquiries for Lehigh Valley Health Network. Support administrative operations at a hospital-based neurology clinic in Allentown.

Description

  • Collaborate with patient navigators, clinicians, hospital personnel, referring physicians, and insurance carriers
  • Deliver administrative and scheduling support across the practices
  • Gather the information needed to keep provider schedules accurate and current
  • Coordinate provider availability for office hours, inpatient and outpatient services, meetings, conferences, vacations, and other time off
  • Track schedules throughout the day, make updates, and communicate changes to affected parties
  • Anticipate patients’ expectations and educational needs
  • Apply basic procedure requirements to answer routine patient questions or route inquiries appropriately
  • Review scheduled-time utilization and identify conflicts
  • Maintain patient charts and electronic health record details with relevant patient and insurance information
  • Participate in contract, committee, and all-staff meetings

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two years of experience in a healthcare setting
  • Initiative and self-direction
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and on time
  • Computer and word-processing proficiency
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology
  • Associate’s degree preferred
  • Four years of healthcare experience preferred
  • Familiarity with physician practice scheduling software preferred
  • Ability to lift and carry 25 pounds
  • Frequent sitting and standing
  • Frequent keyboard use
  • Patient care providers may need to kneel, bend, squat, and perform CPR
