Mid-to-Senior Telecommunications Engineer – Onsite in Guatemala

Design and maintain LAN/WAN networks, telephony platforms, and cybersecurity infrastructure for Progreso in Guatemala. Support reliable performance, availability, and operational continuity across network services.

Description

  • Design and deploy LAN/WAN network platforms for new and existing services
  • Design and deploy telephony platforms
  • Oversee and monitor network and telephony infrastructure installations
  • Resolve network incidents and issues assigned by the Front Office team
  • Upgrade network platforms and implement infrastructure applications
  • Maintain the capacity and availability of network infrastructure resources
  • Record infrastructure changes and keep the knowledge base current
  • Validate infrastructure changes that may affect applications and services
  • Monitor network and telephony infrastructure to maintain reliable operation

Requirements

  • Degree in Systems Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or Systems Administration
  • More than three years of experience administering networks and cybersecurity environments
  • Knowledge of TIA, ANSI, IEEE, and ISO 27001 standards
  • Knowledge of networking and CCNA SD-WAN certifications
  • Knowledge of network microsegmentation
  • Strong understanding of data center architecture, cloud, virtualization, and cybersecurity
  • Ability to troubleshoot BGP and OSPF protocols
  • Ability to resolve LAN network quality-of-service and performance issues involving latency, MTU, load balancing, congestion, and Wi-Fi
