Mid-Level Oracle Database Administrator — United States Remote

Mid-level Oracle DBA responsible for administering Oracle and SQL databases for a federal customer. The role covers backups, performance optimization, security, automation, and disaster recovery.

Description

  • Administer, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Oracle and SQL database environments
  • Support database provisioning, installation, upgrades, patching, and server maintenance
  • Manage backup and restoration operations, high availability, disaster recovery, and failover procedures
  • Monitor database performance, alerts, and operational dashboards, applying tuning improvements as needed
  • Implement database security, auditing, configuration controls, and compliance measures
  • Create SQL and PL/SQL scripts and automate database administration tasks
  • Investigate database incidents, troubleshoot failures, and conduct root-cause analysis
  • Coordinate with application, infrastructure, security, and operations teams
  • Participate in occasional scheduled maintenance outside standard working hours

Requirements

  • At least four years of database administration experience
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle Database, Oracle Grid, Oracle RMAN, and PL/SQL
  • Experience with SQL, SQL Server, SQL Clustering, SQL scripting, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, and Microsoft Access
  • Experience creating and administering standalone Oracle and SQL databases
  • Ability to identify and troubleshoot database problems
  • Experience maintaining servers and performing software installations, upgrades, and patching
  • Experience with high availability, disaster recovery, backup, and restoration procedures
  • Experience with database performance tuning, monitoring, security, automation, and incident management
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with technical teams
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and documentation abilities
  • Must live and perform all work within the United States
  • Willingness to complete federal background or suitability screening and fingerprinting when required
  • Availability for eight working hours per day between 7:30 AM and 6:00 PM Eastern Time
  • Ability to support occasional scheduled after-hours maintenance
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Professional Oracle certification, such as OCP, OCA, or an equivalent credential, preferred
  • Current or previous federal background investigation or Public Trust status preferred
  • Federal government or federal contracting experience preferred
  • Experience with ServiceNow, Idera, SolarWinds, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Datadog, and/or Dynatrace preferred
  • Experience with cloud database environments, including OCI, preferred
