Description

  • Set the strategic direction and roadmap for the Commercial Lending AI Platform
  • Own the architecture and engineering strategy for Matrix and the broader AI platform ecosystem
  • Direct the design and delivery of enterprise agentic AI capabilities, including orchestration, agent lifecycle management, model and tool integration, retrieval, governance, observability, evaluation, and operational controls
  • Advance engineering excellence through modern software practices, platform engineering, automation, reliability engineering, and operational discipline
  • Oversee architecture, engineering, build, testing, implementation, operations, risk management, and ongoing optimisation
  • Partner with senior business leaders, product owners, architects, and engineering leaders to turn business outcomes into scalable technology solutions
  • Embed security, risk management, responsible AI, regulatory compliance, and governance into platform delivery
  • Manage financial, commercial, and operational platform performance and present results through executive governance forums
  • Sequence initiatives against delivery, adoption, engineering quality, risk, and cost objectives
  • Lead multidisciplinary engineering, platform, and architecture teams
  • Ensure the stability, availability, performance, scalability, and resilience of AI platforms, infrastructure, frameworks, and tooling
  • Create reusable platform services, standards, frameworks, controls, and engineering patterns
  • Represent platform and technology strategy in executive forums and influence senior stakeholders

Requirements

  • Extensive experience directing strategy, architecture, engineering, and delivery for large-scale AI, platform, or cloud-native capabilities in complex enterprise environments
  • Deep knowledge of platform architecture, distributed systems, cloud-native engineering, modern software practices, and enterprise technology operations
  • Proven experience designing, building, and operating agentic AI platforms, including orchestration frameworks, agent architectures, LLM ecosystems, model integration, governance, and operational capabilities
  • Track record of creating foundational technology platforms used by multiple engineering teams and business domains
  • Strong architectural leadership and technical credibility with senior engineers, architects, and technology leaders
  • Experience delivering resilient, secure, regulated technology platforms, preferably in financial services or another regulated sector
  • Commercial judgment and the ability to turn complex business problems into scalable technical solutions
  • Leadership experience encompassing Agile and servant leadership, with a record of delivering transformational programmes through complex governance structures
  • Expertise in risk management, financial oversight, stakeholder engagement, and executive collaboration
  • Experience in operations, risk management, financial management, collaboration, and negotiation
  • Advanced architecture, platform engineering, and software engineering expertise
  • Experience defining AI platform operating models, engineering standards, governance frameworks, and reusable technology capabilities
  • Strong understanding of enterprise AI, machine learning, and agentic AI technologies, including production-scale applications
  • Hands-on experience delivering AI platforms for model serving, agent orchestration, observability, evaluation, governance, and operational management
  • Understanding of large technology programmes involving multiple teams, disciplines, and senior governance forums
  • Ability to operate effectively as both a senior technology executive and a highly technical engineering leader
