Lead Software Engineer, Plan Intelligence at Lennar (Remote)

Lead development of Lennar’s Plan Intelligence platform for homebuilding analytics, market insights, consumer segments, and EI packages. Own React, TypeScript, Python, PostgreSQL, AWS, mapping, and LLM-enabled features across the full product lifecycle.

Description

  • Work with stakeholders to define functional and non-functional requirements
  • Foster team collaboration and align delivery with business objectives
  • Estimate and forecast planned work
  • Follow architecture, design, implementation, security standards, and engineering best practices
  • Investigate development and design challenges and recommend effective solutions
  • Assess integration requirements and plan integration approaches
  • Create technical documentation, including design evaluations, test plans, and test results
  • Produce clear, maintainable, high-quality, testable code
  • Build unit and integration tests and perform functional and performance testing
  • Take part in code reviews and collaborative programming sessions
  • Create reusable software components and building blocks
  • Diagnose and resolve critical issues to improve application performance
  • Define and refine development practices and processes
  • Lead, manage, and mentor software engineers
  • Direct the design and delivery of Plan Intelligence, an internal platform for plan portfolio analysis, market intelligence, consumer segmentation, and EI packages
  • Own end-to-end features across a server-rendered React and TypeScript front end and Python FastAPI service using PostgreSQL on AWS
  • Work with data engineering on pipelines that deliver plan, geospatial, and margin data to the platform
  • Create and optimize interactive mapping, charting, and export workflows for large plan and community datasets
  • Enhance AWS Bedrock LLM features while balancing response quality, latency, and operating cost
  • Operate and support the platform across development, UAT, and production AWS environments using monitoring and product analytics

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in computer science plus 5 or more years of experience with web technologies and standards, or a bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer information systems, or an equivalent field plus 7 or more years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn new skills, technologies, and frameworks
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities
  • Documented experience managing a development team
  • Experience architecting, scaling, and delivering complex technical solutions
  • Leadership experience in Agile environments, along with strong communication, collaboration, mentoring, and team-enablement skills
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to varied stakeholders in speech and writing
  • At least 7 years of JavaScript experience
  • At least 5 years of React.js experience
  • Strong knowledge of semantic HTML and modern CSS, including CSS-in-JS, accessibility, and responsive design
  • Proficiency with TypeScript and modern React tools such as Vite, server-side rendering, client-side routing, and TanStack Query or an equivalent server-state library
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD, Git, package management, debugging, and complex issue resolution
  • Proficiency in Python and FastAPI, with strong SQL skills using relational databases such as PostgreSQL
  • Practical experience building, deploying, and operating Docker-based services on AWS, including ECS, S3, and IAM, with infrastructure as code
  • Experience integrating enterprise single sign-on through OIDC or Microsoft Entra ID and securely managing server-side sessions and tokens
  • Experience developing automated front-end and back-end unit and integration tests
  • Preferred experience includes analytics and reporting interfaces, geospatial data and interactive maps, generative AI and LLM integrations, data pipelines and lake formats, A/B testing and product analytics instrumentation, backend development, cloud platforms, third-party integrations, and homebuilding, real estate, or construction data
