Lead Data Analyst, DataOps - Remote United States

Lead data analysis and DataOps initiatives by converting business needs into validated data products, automation, and actionable insights. The role supports The Cigna Group’s healthcare and Evernorth businesses.

Description

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to clarify objectives, operating processes, decision needs, desired outcomes, and data usage
  • Lead discovery sessions, requirements workshops, and stakeholder interviews
  • Convert customer needs into functional requirements, business rules, acceptance criteria, and measurable value definitions
  • Record business context, intended use, process needs, and expected outcomes
  • Investigate, profile, and analyze data for quality, completeness, metadata, usability, and fitness for purpose
  • Establish business semantics, data definitions, transformation rules, source-to-target mappings, data relationships, and readiness standards
  • Create functional and data requirements
  • Work with Data Operations and Data Engineering to design and deliver solutions
  • Build analytical datasets, reusable data assets, and Gold-layer data solutions
  • Create and perform functional tests, test cases, and business acceptance checks
  • Manage customer feedback, user acceptance testing, adoption, and transition activities
  • Evaluate processes for workflow enhancement, simplification, and greater operational efficiency
  • Find opportunities to apply data, workflow automation, AI, and integrated solutions
  • Create analytical solutions, prototypes, and actionable business insights
  • Help move proof-of-concept and early-stage work into enterprise-scale operations
  • Produce documentation, training resources, and knowledge-transfer materials
  • Apply AI, metadata, workflow, and reusable analytical patterns to improve analyst workflows
  • Create reusable templates, requirements assets, testing methods, and documentation standards

Requirements

  • At least five years of experience in data analysis, business analysis, data products, analytics consulting, or enterprise solution delivery
  • Demonstrated ability to gather and convert business needs and operating processes into functional requirements, business rules, acceptance criteria, and data specifications
  • Experience with data discovery, profiling, quality evaluation, testing, business validation, and solution adoption
  • Proficiency in SQL, data analysis methods, and enterprise analytics tools
  • Background collaborating with business, product, technology, and data teams across functions
  • Experience supporting process automation, workflow solutions, or AI-enabled capabilities
  • Knowledge of enterprise data platforms, integration patterns, analytics, AI, metadata, and automation technologies
  • Strong customer engagement, communication, facilitation, problem-solving, and stakeholder management abilities
  • Experience in complex or regulated enterprise environments is preferred
  • Experience with Databricks or similar cloud data platforms and data product initiatives is preferred
  • Experience with workflow automation, low-code platforms, process mining, or AI-enabled business solutions is preferred
  • Knowledge of metadata management, data governance, and enterprise data architecture concepts is preferred
  • Experience in healthcare, insurance, or another highly regulated sector is preferred
  • A home cable broadband or fiber connection providing at least 10 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload is required for remote work
