Junior Information Security Compliance Analyst (Remote - Utah)

Support security monitoring, vulnerability management, access controls, incident response, and SOC 2 and PCI DSS compliance. Help protect Veracity Insurance Solutions’ independent small-business insurance platform.

Description

  • Monitor security dashboards, alerts, and logs across AWS, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and Grafana; triage events, document outcomes, and escalate issues under established runbooks
  • Conduct recurring vulnerability scans across cloud, endpoint, and application environments; track remediation and verify findings close within SLAs
  • Review employee-reported phishing attempts and security questions, escalating confirmed issues
  • Support incident response as a first responder and scribe by recording timelines, preserving evidence, maintaining tickets, and drafting post-incident summaries
  • Maintain security-tool coverage, including MFA enrollment, endpoint agents, logging agents, and email security
  • Provision, modify, and remove user access for onboarding, role changes, and terminations
  • Conduct quarterly user access reviews and document exceptions and completed evidence
  • Apply least-privilege and role-based access practices while maintaining records for privileged, service, and third-party access
  • Collect and maintain audit evidence for SOC 2 and PCI DSS
  • Support SOC 2 and PCI DSS audits, including communications with auditors
  • Maintain the policy and procedure library, review calendar, approval records, and employee attestations
  • Support vendor risk assessments and keep the vendor inventory current
  • Complete assigned internal control tests and document results
  • Draft customer and carrier security questionnaire responses for review
  • Maintain the asset inventory and security awareness training program
  • Prepare and maintain security and compliance metrics reports
  • Create and maintain runbooks, SOPs, and checklists
  • Collaborate with IT, Engineering, Compliance, Legal, and Service teams
  • Identify repetitive work that could be automated or streamlined and recommend improvements
  • Handle additional duties as requested, directed, or assigned

Requirements

  • 0–2 years of professional experience; internships, IT helpdesk or support, systems administration, or audit and compliance work are acceptable
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, IT, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience or a relevant certification in place of a degree
  • Working knowledge of at least one major cloud or productivity platform—AWS, Microsoft 365/Azure, or Google Workspace—including user, permission, and log locations
  • Ability to complete recurring, detail-oriented work independently
  • Comfort using spreadsheets, ticketing platforms such as Jira, and documentation tools
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good judgment and discretion when handling sensitive, regulated, and confidential information, including customer PII and NPI
  • Willingness to learn and genuine curiosity about security
  • Ability to remain composed during audits, incidents, and deadline-driven work
