Junior Designer, Design Studio – Onbrand at American Express

Junior designer creating polished, brand-aligned marketing assets for American Express’s in-house creative studio. The role spans print, digital, packaging, branding, and visual identity work across multiple channels.

Description

  • Create multi-channel marketing materials for print and digital formats using the brand’s visual identity
  • Contribute to creative development and production for digital, print, packaging, branding, and visual identity projects
  • Present design concepts through clear and effective visual communication
  • Monitor developments in design, marketing, creative AI, and production, applying relevant practices thoughtfully
  • Prepare digital and print-ready assets in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Figma
  • Work with creative and production partners to achieve strong digital outputs and print execution
  • Refine Photoshop artwork through resizing, color correction, and basic image retouching
  • Partner with Designers, Art Directors, Creative Directors, and internal production teams
  • Complete high-quality work efficiently while meeting project schedules and deadlines
  • Coordinate multiple projects and prioritize work according to business needs
  • Keep files and documentation organized through consistent version control and archival practices
  • Offer considered creative direction to internal stakeholders
  • Help foster a positive, innovative, and collaborative internal creative environment

Requirements

  • Bring 1–4 years of professional design experience, ideally in an agency setting focused on multi-channel marketing journeys
  • Produce and version high volumes of design assets across formats, dimensions, channels, and deliverables
  • Conduct thorough design reviews and output-quality checks
  • Apply consistent file organization and version-control practices
  • Demonstrate strong Figma proficiency
  • Demonstrate strong Adobe Creative Cloud skills in InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat; After Effects is a plus
  • Demonstrate strong Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Use and adapt to emerging creative AI tools and technologies
  • Show deep PowerPoint knowledge and proficiency
  • Have experience with image retouching
  • Understand motion design workflows; Adobe After Effects experience is a plus
  • Apply brand guidelines across digital, traditional, and experiential channels
  • Bring developing expertise in digital design, social, branding and visual identity, print, and design production
  • Understand printing processes, techniques, color models, and file formats thoroughly
  • Show exceptional attention to detail, organization, time management, prioritization, and deadline management
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively, including presenting work in internal reviews and stakeholder meetings
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of color theory and typography
  • Experience with content management system design is a plus
  • Familiarity with Digital Asset Management platforms such as Frontify is a plus
  • Experience with project management platforms such as Workfront is a plus
  • Provide a link to an online portfolio
  • Be eligible to work in the United States; American Express will not pursue visa sponsorship
