Inventory Control Specialist - Remote, United States

Maintain accurate NetSuite inventory records for Greyson Clothiers’ omnichannel apparel business. Manage inventory adjustments, cycle counts, virtual warehouse locations, data audits, and assembly orders.

Description

  • Process inventory adjustments and investigate discrepancies between physical counts and system records.
  • Determine the root causes of inventory variances and recommend corrective measures.
  • Work with warehouse, fulfillment, and finance teams to document and obtain approval for adjustments.
  • Plan and lead scheduled cycle counts and complete physical inventories across warehouse locations.
  • Coordinate inventory-count schedules, staffing, and procedures with warehouse management.
  • Reconcile physical counts with NetSuite records and enter approved adjustments.
  • Evaluate location-level count accuracy and shrinkage trends, then report findings and recommend corrective action.
  • Maintain cycle-count documentation and support compliance with company policy.
  • Audit and organize virtual warehouse and bin locations.
  • Merge or deactivate duplicate, obsolete, or incorrectly labeled system locations.
  • Define and maintain naming conventions and organizational standards for warehouse locations.
  • Keep physical warehouse structures aligned with system configuration.
  • Create, process, and monitor assembly orders for production and fulfillment.
  • Verify accurate recording of component consumption and finished-goods receipts.
  • Resolve assembly-order errors, holds, and discrepancies.
  • Work with planning and operations teams to prioritize and schedule assembly orders.
  • Perform recurring inventory-data audits to correct system errors, duplicate SKUs, and outdated records.
  • Maintain item-master data covering inventory, units of measure, and location attributes.
  • Create and document standard operating procedures for inventory control and system maintenance.
  • Produce and analyze inventory reports to track accuracy, identify trends, and support decisions.
  • Identify inventory-process and system-workflow improvements and help implement them.
  • Support the Director of Inventory Planning with ad hoc analysis and projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least two years of inventory-control experience, preferably in apparel, retail, or consumer goods.
  • Advanced NetSuite skills, including experience with inventory adjustments, location records, and assembly orders.
  • Strong Excel skills for data analysis and reconciliation.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to identify discrepancies and trends in large data sets.
  • An organized, process-focused approach with the ability to structure ambiguous or disorganized data.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with warehouse, planning, and finance teams.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Applicants based in the Detroit Metro or Columbus Metro areas receive first consideration.
  • Experience managing apparel or fashion inventory with size-, color-, and style-level SKU structures.
  • Familiarity with warehouse concepts including bin and location logic, cycle counting, and kitting or assembly.
  • Experience creating or maintaining standard operating procedures.
