Insurance Officer – North Dakota Remote

Sell and service crop, livestock, and supplemental insurance products while managing agricultural producer relationships across North Dakota. Support risk management decisions and oversee complex insurance portfolios through sales, policy administration, and claims coordination.

Description

  • Act as the primary agent for crop policies, including hail and supplemental insurance products
  • Sell MPCI, Margin Protection, Crop Hail, PRF, Livestock, and supplemental insurance products
  • Explain coverage options and help customers make informed risk management decisions
  • Prepare and present livestock and other applicable insurance quotes
  • Create and carry out personal marketing plans
  • Cross-sell products and services while developing an active sales pipeline
  • Lead individual and joint sales calls and prepare customer proposals
  • Deliver sales presentations and provide product and sales guidance
  • Represent the Associations at agricultural and industry events
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and insurance company representatives
  • Resolve policy matters, interpret product offerings, and make business placement decisions
  • Help coordinate insurance campaigns and strategic initiatives
  • Process insurance applications and forms for multiple vendors
  • Review underwriting and actuarial calculations and manage policy changes
  • Gather acreage and production data using precision farming information
  • Submit claims for the assigned insurance portfolio
  • Collaborate with the Insurance Specialist when needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, finance, or business preferred
  • Background in an agriculture-related field involving sales and service
  • Experience in relationship management and/or sales
  • Experience managing a large, complex book of business
  • Demonstrated success growing a book of business
  • Licensed crop insurance agent or insurance company representative experience with sales responsibilities preferred
  • Willingness to travel 50–70% of the time
  • Ability to work at least 50% remotely or in the field with producers
  • Ability to sell and service MPCI, MP, Crop Hail, PRF, Livestock, and supplemental insurance products
  • Ability to process insurance forms, analyze and enter online applications, verify underwriting and actuarial calculations, and manage policy changes
  • Ability to collect acreage information and submit claims
  • Ability to use AIP systems and precision farming data
