Information Security Consultant — Ideagen (Remote, United States)
Advise Ideagen clients on information security, governance, risk, and compliance. Lead ISO 27001 audits, risk assessments, and practical control improvements.
Description
- Perform internal audits against ISO 27001 and other recognised standards to prepare clients for external certification assessments
- Examine policies, procedures, controls, and evidence to uncover compliance gaps and improvement opportunities
- Evaluate client governance, risk, and security frameworks against industry standards and established best practices
- Prepare audit reports, findings, recommendations, and actionable remediation plans
- Help clients implement and enhance information security controls and compliance processes
- Lead workshops, interviews, and discussions with operational teams and executive stakeholders
- Carry out information security risk assessments and help develop effective risk treatment plans
- Build trusted client partnerships while delivering consulting engagements across diverse organisations
Requirements
- Background in information security, compliance, governance, risk, audit, or a closely related field
- Solid knowledge of ISO 27001 and information security management system principles
- Experience performing audits, examining evidence, or evaluating controls against recognised frameworks or standards
- Strong communication skills for working with diverse stakeholders
- Ability to explain complex information in a clear, practical manner
- Skilled at identifying issues, analysing requirements, and proposing pragmatic solutions
- Self-directed and proactive, with the ability to take ownership of work and professional development
- Motivation to expand expertise across information security, governance, risk, and compliance consulting
- Familiarity with GRC platforms such as Vanta, Drata, Strike Graph, or comparable tools is advantageous
- ISO 27001 Internal Auditor certification is desirable
- Exposure to ISO 9001, ISO 22301, ISO 14001, SOC 2, HITRUST, or PCI DSS is desirable
- Experience serving clients in regulated industries is desirable
- Knowledge of information security controls, cloud technologies, risk management, or security governance practices is desirable
