Description

  • Lead Unit4’s human-AI interaction research agenda
  • Set priorities with the AI First program
  • Study how AI systems should communicate and interact with users
  • Examine how agents present themselves, explain actions, and express uncertainty
  • Research how trust in human-agent collaboration develops, changes, and breaks down
  • Assess AI’s cognitive and behavioral effects on productivity and enterprise decision-making
  • Promote safe, fair, transparent, and trustworthy human-AI collaboration
  • Translate research findings into principles and patterns for future AI products
  • Develop partnerships with universities and academic institutions
  • Evaluate research collaborations and internship requirements
  • Offer subject-matter expertise without direct people management
  • Work with architecture, AI research, information science, product, design, engineering, and responsible AI teams
  • Contribute insights to product usability and customer research

Requirements

  • Background in studying how people think, decide, or work with technology through cognitive science, HCI, human factors, psychology, or a related discipline
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative research skills
  • Experience designing studies or experiments and reaching well-supported conclusions
  • Able to lead a research area, define questions, prioritize work, and operate with limited direction
  • Skilled at converting academic evidence into actionable guidance for product and engineering teams
  • Able to communicate research insights clearly to multidisciplinary audiences
  • Practical experience studying collaboration between people and intelligent systems
  • Research experience involving trust, explainability, or human oversight of automated or AI systems is advantageous
  • Experience researching knowledge work or organizational decision-making is advantageous
  • Academic partnerships, publications, or research collaboration experience is advantageous
  • Familiarity with responsible AI principles or AI regulation is advantageous
  • Able and willing to work in English
  • Able to meet potential security-clearance and background-check requirements for customer projects and sensitive data access
