Financial Analyst - Valeris (North Carolina Remote)

Financial Analyst role at Valeris supporting billing, reconciliations, reporting, and month-end close. The position evaluates program performance and helps maintain accurate financial controls.

Description

  • Analyze financial and operational information to identify trends, explain variances, and recommend actions
  • Produce recurring and on-demand reports covering revenue, receivables, cash activity, and customer program results
  • Create analyses and reporting tools that help stakeholders interpret performance and make informed decisions
  • Review billing for completeness and accuracy, investigating discrepancies through resolution
  • Reconcile balances and transactions across reports, customer records, and the general ledger
  • Track outstanding items and collaborate with internal teams to resolve financial questions
  • Support month-end close with account reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, and supporting schedules
  • Assist with revenue and deferred revenue analysis and related reconciliations
  • Maintain financial documentation and comply with control and approval procedures
  • Collaborate with Finance, Client Services, and Operations to assess business activity and its financial effects
  • Interpret contracts and operating processes to support accurate billing and reporting
  • Recommend improvements to data quality, reporting, and financial process efficiency

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
  • At least three years of experience in financial analysis, financial operations, or a related finance position
  • Strong analytical ability, including experience handling large datasets, investigating discrepancies, and explaining conclusions
  • Advanced Excel proficiency, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis
  • Clear communication, sound judgment, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Experience with billing, receivables, reconciliations, or month-end reporting preferred
  • Experience using ERP systems or reporting tools, or improving financial processes, preferred
  • Working knowledge of GAAP and revenue recognition principles preferred
  • Ability to type at least 35 words per minute with 97% accuracy preferred
  • Willingness to travel as needed preferred
  • Successful completion of a background check and, where applicable, a drug screening
