Fall 2026 Communications Intern

Support Bipartisan Policy Center policy initiatives through media outreach, research, and digital content. This hybrid Washington, DC internship offers experience in nonprofit communications and policymaking.

Description

  • Research topics and assist project analysts and staff
  • Develop familiarity with policymaking processes and think tank operations
  • Track earned media coverage and prepare reports
  • Create and maintain targeted media contact lists
  • Analyze industry, organizational, and media information
  • Prepare press releases, media pitches, event copy, talking points, and social media content
  • Produce digital materials for events and social media campaigns
  • Advance BPC policy initiatives while supporting the organization’s visibility, credibility, and sustainability
  • Collaborate with Communications team members on cross-functional projects

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled undergraduate students at the rising-junior level or above, currently enrolled graduate students, or graduates from within the past 12 months
  • Non-U.S. citizens must hold a valid work permit or visa confirming eligibility to work in the United States
  • BPC does not provide visa sponsorship
  • Demonstrated interest in public policy, politics, communications, and/or nonprofit management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong editing ability
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Experience with database or design software is preferred
  • Creative, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced team environment
  • Application must include a resume, cover letter, three- to five-page writing sample, college or university transcript, and a brief response to “What does bipartisanship mean to you?”
