Engineering Manager, BWRX-300 Reactor Design

Lead the engineering team responsible for BWRX-300 reactor pressure vessel and internal component design at GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy. Oversee engineers, suppliers, regulatory coordination, and delivery of nuclear engineering programs.

Description

  • Lead technical and managerial work for the BWRX-300 reactor pressure vessel and internal component design team
  • Report to the Senior Engineering Manager of Design Engineering
  • Recruit, coach, and develop engineering talent and organizational capability
  • Build effective relationships with engineering managers, business leaders, project managers, and other stakeholders
  • Address technical matters with external partners, customers, the NRC, and other relevant regulatory agencies
  • Manage performance and program execution to meet engineering commitments on schedule
  • Organize and oversee technical activities supporting engineering deliverables
  • Direct the design, development, and ongoing maintenance of required systems
  • Advise technical disciplines and project design partners on system specifications
  • Oversee external resources to maintain deliverable quality, flexibility, and cost effectiveness
  • Contribute to commercial and marketing initiatives and help develop new business opportunities
  • Safeguard GVH intellectual property rights
  • Advance process improvement, simplification, and design-to-cost efforts
  • Uphold quality requirements through design reviews and corrective actions

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a relevant STEM field from an accredited college or university
  • At least 10 years of progressive experience in engineering design and/or project leadership
  • Ability to obtain authorization to access U.S. export-controlled information, when applicable
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
  • Successful completion of a drug screen, when applicable
  • Ability to coordinate effectively between organizations in different geographic locations
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership capabilities
  • Ability to lead highly experienced engineers while balancing competing priorities and demands
  • Project management expertise across communication, risk, planning and scheduling, and change management
  • Knowledge of U.S. NRC licensing requirements
  • EPC experience and knowledge, particularly in power plant projects
  • Knowledge of and professional experience in the nuclear industry and technology
  • Experience delivering new-build projects in the power industry
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and manage programs
  • Experience fostering individual creativity, team innovation, and leadership across diverse teams
